Hey y'all!!
So while Zach and Alan are working on improving the BugBear AI I'm creating a new BugBear mesh for our game! Right now I'm in the concepting stage of the bugbear and it's going pretty well!


So currently, Teddymare's BugBear enemy is a pretty gnarly looking bear with a gigantic maw filled with sharp teeth for a face and claws. He has a broken heart that echoes Patches' heart patch. We wanted the Bugbear to, visually, be the stuff of nightmares while also exuding the corruption of that the Boogie Man exerts throughout the nightmare realm. By using aesthetic elements of design that were related to Patches physical design, as well as his base mesh, we were able to create an enemy character that would relate to the player "This could be you after game over."
Our second iteration of the Bugbear is following the same vein as the first and will still possess the claws and the broken heart. Its main difference is how its design relates to its function. The new BugBear's AI will allow the bugbear to "see" the player so we decided that it would be a good idea to implement an eye into its design so it would be differentiated from its blind brother who can "hear" the player.

Eye puns will most definitely be in our future. EXCITING STUFF IS HAPPENING NOW and we can't wait to share more of our progress!!!!
